The Revolution has begun – Mark 7 Revolution

ENGLISH VERSION

As many of you have noticed, I have recently become the first owner of a Mark 7 Revolution in Austria.

Here are my experiences in the order process until delivery.

The order process

I was very enthusiastic about the teaser for the new machine last year, and I was already paying attention to it a year ago.
Having personally convinced myself of the machine at the Shot Show 2018 and informed about some discussions about future upgrades etc.,
I also announced my order at the Shot Show in Las Vegas.

By the middle of March the time had come and I was able to order my new reloading press.
Since the machine is subject to the ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulation), there was a small amount of paperwork to do in advance.
You have to be aware that there are some things to do in advance and to fill out.
Already here showed the excellent customer service of Mark 7 and so I could return the required papers in really short time.
Also, the payment excluding shipping costs was done by me at this point, which was also via Paypal very simple.

After about 3 weeks (which is very fast for America) came then the confirmation that all necessary documents were approved by the State Department and the freight costs are available and the machine can now go into production. This ensures that the production starts only after everything has been clarified 100%.

At this point I would like to thank all employees of Mark 7, especially Heather and Dan, who have kept me up to date and are always available with help and advice. Unfortunately, when you correspond with American companies, it often takes several days to get an answer. But unlike Mark 7 – within 24 hours you ALWAYS get an answer.

The shipping

On April 30, 2018, I received the long-awaited mail that the press is now ready and was handed over to the forwarding company.
Also, I got in the course of the manual for the revolution with sent, which of course has been learned by heart immediately.
I was able to keep track of the current status at any time via the tracking system – and this impressed me very much – the machine had arrived at Miami Airport on 02.05.2018 and was ready for the trip to Europe.

Personally, I expected between two and three weeks before she would finally be there, as it usually gets stuck at Austrian customs.

However, I suddenly received on 07.05.2018 at 08:30 a mail from the company Jet Trans Vienna, that my shipment would be ready and I can now pay the customs clearance and import sales tax and then the press could be delivered.
After a short phone call with the responsible dispatcher, he immediately cleared the customs clearance and I was able to settle my outstanding expenses an hour later, so that the press can then be delivered the following day.
But half an hour later, another call followed that they were delivering the press on the same day as it fits into the tour.

At this point I would like to thank very warmly for the extremely competent employees of the company Jet Trans, who were very friendly and accommodating and went to work with the utmost professionalism.

As you can imagine it was a blessing that the press was already there so fast, but also a curse, because I only came home Wednesday evening.
Yes, you are right, the Wednesday night was a very long one.

The costs

It is no secret that the press costs a small fortune and has already been discussed a lot.

Due to fluctuating dollar exchange rates, there can be different prices, so I do not give exact numbers here but “guideline values”.
The machine itself including Mr. Bulletfeeder Pro and Mark 7 Live Priority Support comes to around € 9.050, – or $ 10.750, –
Since I decided to buy airfreight, I received about € 1.150, – or $ 1.400, – shipping.
When shipping, all costs are included, including packaging material, handling fees, and shipping to the front door.

However, one must not forget that you then have to pay, of course, customs clearance and import tax.
So I was able to pay about € 2.000, – or $ 2.380, – here.

Thus, the machine came to a total of around € 12.200, – or $ 14.500, –

Whether the money was worth it? So much in advance – yes, from my point of view in any case!

Next up is the unpacking revolution review – stay tuned.
